Hello, traveler!
I’m Erik, a seasoned product and design leader based in Brockville, Ontario. I’m a proud best friend to two dogs, and an aspiring indie game developer in my spare time.
Read on for my thoughts on design & tech, and a few case studies that showcase how I bring my experience in leadership, psychology, and design to make the world a little better.

Quick Q & A
How did you end up in UX design?
I wasn’t aware of it until my 3rd year psychology course in Human Factors Engineering – UX before UX existed. We had a course project to run a usability test and provide suggestions to improve a product, and I asked my mom to try using an Android tablet (back in 2010). It opened my eyes and I fell in love with the craft immediately.
Any advice for a new designer?
AI and economic uncertainty are causing tech companies to shrink their headcount. It’ll be hard to land your first job, because all these layoffs are putting many senior people on the job market. Try contract work so you can build your experience, but keep an eye out for other careers where your empathy and critical thinking can be applied.
What are you up to right now?
I’m providing research and design support to an AI company that’s reducing administrative burdens so healthcare practitioners can focus on patient care.
I’m also learning to code and applying that to making a small retro puzzle videogame.
Can you show me your dogs?
Yes, I would love to. Click here for pics.
